Nicholas Krishnan just completed his studies at Avondale High School in June 2010. He was a member of the band, choir, swim team, and track team. Nicholas was awarded Varsity Letters in all of his high school activities.
Since Nicholas has absolute pitch, Nicholas' school days were enhanced with online coursework presented by the Berklee College of Music located in Boston to build upon his gifts.
Soon after leaving Avondale, Nicholas continued his studies with Berklee and also spent time with John Lynn at GeniusDV learning video editing using Final Cut Pro. Nicholas hopes to combine his music skills with his life-long Apple computer passions and bring them to the movie industry and his future vocation.
Nicholas races on the ski slopes, water skis, and is an active member of the Orion Community Drummers, a world percussion performance group. He loves going out to dinner, concerts, and other events with his friends.
People closest to Nicholas know that he was born a sweet, bright, and adorable little boy. He talked and played very early in his development. Tragically, a little before Nicholas was two years old, he lost all of his language and ability to gaze at others. Nicholas began manifesting autism-related behaviors and soon thereafter received medical and educational diagnoses of autism.
The only time that his family could hear his voice was when he would sing. The only time that his eyes would connect with others was when they were drumming together.
After many years, Nicholas regained some language, enough to make his basic needs understood. Although conversing remains an ongoing challenge. Online learning environments and social networking opportunities have filled a much needed void for Nicholas.
At home, Nicholas is a loving and fun person to live with. His parents adore him and are very proud of everything Nicholas does and how hard he has worked to become the young man he is today.
